Miley Cyrus to be studied as a course in College

Skidmore College is offering a course called "The Sociology of Miley Cyrus: Race, Class, Gender, and Media." Yes, you can study Miley Cyrus and get school credit for it at the same time.
Carolyn Chernoff, a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology, will teach the class at the private liberal arts school located in Saratoga Springs, New York.
"From Disney Tween to twerking machine, Miley Cyrus has grown in the eyes of the public, trying on and discarding very different identities onscreen and off," reads the course description. "She provides rich excamples for analysing aspects of intersectional identities and media representation."
Some of those examples include: "Uses of culture across race, class and gender," "Bisexuality, queerness, and the female body," "The Rise of the Disney Princess," and Gender Stratification and the hyper-commodification of childhood."

Nine-month-old Baby Currently Facing Charges In Court For Attempted Murder

Baby Muhammad Mosa Khan is one of more than 30 people facing charges after a police raid to catch suspected gas thieves in the city of Lahore, The News website reports. Police say the suspects tried to murder security officers by pelting them with stones. But the Times of India newspaper quotes the infant's father as saying the group was protesting against an electricity shortage.

Inspector Kashif Muhammad, who attended the alleged crime scene and has since been suspended, wrote in his report that it was a case of attempted murder.

Appearing in a packed court room with others accused in the case on Thursday, Musa was seen crying as his grandfather Muhammad Yasin held him on his shoulder.

Yasin later fed him milk from a bottle while fielding questions from reporters.

"Everyone in the court was saying 'How can such a small child be implicated in any case'? What kind of police do we have?" the 50-year-old labourer said.

The charge is in direct contradiction with Pakistan's minimum age of criminal responsibility, which was raised from seven to 12 years in 2013 except in terrorism cases.
